How to use CSV to Excel

  1. Open your CSV or TSV and choose its delimiter.
  2. Review headers and select text, number or YYYY-MM-DD date types.
  3. Create and download a genuine XLSX workbook.

How are leading zeros preserved?

Columns default to Text, so values such as 00123 remain text. Select Number only when numeric conversion is intended.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. This tool processes spreadsheets in a browser worker on your device.

Are Excel formulas calculated?

No. The viewer shows formulas and their saved results where available. Missing cached results are marked as unknown. Exported data contains values rather than live formulas.

What workbook features are preserved?

Viewing leaves the original file unchanged. Data exports contain the selected worksheet values; charts, styling, macros and other worksheets are not preserved. Inputs are limited to 20 MB, 20,000 rows, 256 columns and 500,000 cells per workbook.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed on your device and is not uploaded to a server. You do not have to take that on trust — the monitor directly beneath the tool reads your browser’s own record of every request this tab made while your file was open.
