Does putting several pages on a sheet reduce quality?

The pages are embedded without turning them into screenshots, so existing vector text and graphics stay vector. Everything is smaller on the sheet, and original low-resolution images do not gain detail.

Which paper size does the result use?

A4: landscape for two pages per sheet, and portrait for four or nine. Pages are scaled proportionally to fit their cells.
