Starter workflow

Redact and share

Remove sensitive details and prepare a final copy before it leaves your hands.

The steps

Run the tools in this order and review each result as you go.

  1. Step 1

    Redact PDF

Cover private details with black boxes and save a new PDF whose pages are images with those boxes baked in.

  2. Step 2

    Protect PDF with a Password

Add a password to a PDF before sharing it, using AES-256 encryption that runs in your browser.

Why this sequence

Keep the job moving.

Review the redacted pages, then protect the final copy with a password. The redaction tool already creates image-only pages, so a separate form-flattening step is unnecessary.

Compatible steps receive the previous result directly in the browser. If a step needs a fresh file, the workflow tells you before you begin.

Privacy by design

Your files stay in the tab.

This starter processes files on your device. There is no account and saved workflow definitions stay in this browser.

Questions about this workflow

What does PDF redaction remove?

The redaction tool renders each page to an image and removes the marked areas from those pixels. Text, forms and other source layers are not retained. Review every page before sharing; redaction is not just a black shape over selectable text.

Does this replace a legal review?

No. Review the redacted result yourself and follow your organisation’s document-handling requirements before sharing.
